Thirdslot did not start as a startup idea. It started as a question our clients kept asking us.
An Agency Built Around Being Found
Sytech is a web and search agency based in Guangzhou, at the heart of one of the world’s largest manufacturing regions. It builds B2B and export websites and multilingual sites, and handles search engine optimisation and online advertising for businesses that sell abroad. More than 60 multinational brands run on websites we built.
The job was never just a nice website: it was making sure the right buyers find it.
“Why Does ChatGPT Recommend My Competitor?”
Our clients’ buyers began asking AI assistants which supplier to choose, and our clients began asking us why a competitor was named and they were not. Their Google rankings were good, yet nothing in a classic SEO report could answer that question.
So our team started checking by hand: asking ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini the questions buyers ask, noting which businesses came up, and changing what we could to get our clients into those answers.
From Manual Checks to a Measurement Engine
Checking by hand did not scale, and one answer proves nothing: AI answers change from one run to the next. We built an engine that asks the same questions repeatedly, stores every answer unchanged, and tracks each question over time.
Our specialists used it to decide what to fix first and to show clients, with data, what had changed.
Thirdslot Opens to Every Business
Businesses that were not agency clients wanted the same thing. We turned the engine into Thirdslot, a product of its own, operated by Arcane Digital Limited in Hong Kong.
